The former Police Sergeant’s house, built in the 1970s within the remaining parts of the walls of the infamous Petworth House of Correction was an uninspiring collection of dark, cold, small spaces. The brief was to create a contemporary, light-filled, energy efficient space, and provide an entrance which afforded more privacy to the residents, without compromising on natural daylight.
