ORCHARD BARNS FUNTINGTON

An executive development of four houses set within the Southdown’s national park. Traditionally inspired pallet of external finished and a mix of house types, have helped the development blend in with the agricultural surroundings of Funtington.

HIGHLY COMMENDED

CAMBRIDGE FARM, CAMBRIDGE LANE, WALDRON, HEATHFIELD TN21 0PB

Two contemporary dwellings were designed in place of the existing steel roofed/timber clad barns. The new builds are highly insulated steel roofed/sustainable timber clad. The houses have large glazed windows/doors to create a light open living space with the latest heat recovery system and air source heating.

MALTHOUSE HALL 1 AND 2, COOKSBRIDGE ROAD, COOKSBRIDGE SUSSEX BN8 4SL

Malthouse Hall was built in the 1750’s as a Malthouse and converted into a village hall in the early 1900’s. A Grade II listed building, the building was in poor condition when converted into two 3-bedroom houses.

THE VAULTS, FULLERS PASSAGE, LEWES BN7 2LT

The scheme comprises four contemporary houses, utilising traditional materials and arranged in a modern aesthetic. The unique interest in this site are the listed chalk vaults that these houses sit astride. Dating back some 300 years, the vaults are full of mason marks and markings from history.
