The Community Playcentre @ Walberton is a charity set up by locals to enable a better choice of childcare by creating a purpose-designed, sustainable community building. It’s run for the benefit of the community. MSBC built within the budget raised by trusts, social enterprise loans, section 106 and local community fundraising.

BRITISH AIRWAYS i360,  LOWER KINGS ROAD, BRIGHTON BN1 2LN

British Airways i360 is a 162m tower with a glass observation pod that lifts up to 200 passengers at a time to 138m to enjoy amazing panoramic 360-degree views. The two Eugenius Birch designed 1866 tollbooths that graced the entrance to the pier have been reconstructed in their original positions.

Formerly the Harvey’s depot site, the existing building will house a 3-screen independent cinema with community and film education facilities, a restaurant, café and bar and ancillary facilities. The foyer, café, restaurant and education facilities are located within a contemporary annex. The building retains most existing features recognising the local history and importance of the site.

The brief was to provide an architectural solution forming the new science block for the school. The overall design typology was to be contemporary, juxtaposed with the surrounding vernacular. The building was designed to accommodate three science labs, three classrooms and a design & technology suite, embracing modern teaching methods.

RESTORATION OF BRIDGE COTTAGE HERITAGE CENTRE, BRIDGE COTTAGE, HIGH STREET, UCKFIELD TN22 1AZ

The project centred on restoring an important medieval Grade II building from its near derelict state into a sustainable heritage destination. By addressing its physical shortcomings and incorporating modern technology, the brief was to create a community facility able to adapt to changing requirements.

RESTORATION AND CLEANING OF CHICHESTER MARKET CROSS

An elaborate Perpendicular market cross in the centre of Chichester. The work included a conservation clean to the stonework, lime mortar indent repairs to eroded areas of the Caen and Clipsham stone, repairs to the cupola and weather vane and finally a new gold leaf to all the clock faces.
