MARSHALLS MANOR, HORNEY COMMON

The brief was to carry out a complete restoration of the Grade II* listed Manor House and to carry out sympathetic improvements. Following an archaeological analysis, it was discovered that surviving parts of the house were from the late 14th or early 15th Century.

WATCHBELL CHAMBER, RYE

A complete restoration of a dilapidated Grade II listed House which had been used as a Solicitor’s Office for over 150 years, together with providing a new balcony overlooking Rye Harbour. The aim was to expose, conserve and/or restore any original features of historic interest.

WELLANDS, LAUGHTON

The site abuts the northern boundary of Pound House, a Grade II listed dwelling. The brief was for the conversion of the milking parlour and creamery, with the addition of a new link structure, to form a two-bedroom dwelling.

WEST STREET, DITCHLING

The Grade II listed property built as two mirrored flint cottages had undergone several revisions most significantly becoming a single dwelling in the mid-late 19th Century. The new works comprised of a total architectural, M&E, and structural renovations to enliven to property for future generations.

BEACON HALL, HAYWARDS HEATH

The brief was for a contemporary new single storey extension to an impressive ‘Mock Tudor’ late Victorian period private residence. The client wished to take an out of date, north facing kitchen and create a new open planning kitchen living and dining space.

BRENDON, LEWES

A new triple-height space and generous openings towards the garden have brought ample natural light into the heart of this unusual 1930s house. This, together with a restrained choice of materials and colours, has transformed the house into a joyful home with an ecological twist.

CHANDLERS FARM, BURWASH WEALD

Chandlers Farm is a Grade II listed early 19th-century cottage, with some of the original fabric lost. The extension of the building was an opportunity to improve the living accommodation which will help with the preservation and enhancement of the property.

PRIVATE HOUSE, EAST SUSSEX

The brief was to replace an existing three storey dwelling with a new traditional two storey dwelling within a conservation area of Ripe Village. The house needed to be in keeping with the adjacent Grade I listed Church and Grade II listed Rectory.

HURSTWOOD FARM HOUSE, HORSTED KEYNES

The brief was to make improvements to this Grade II listed 16th-century farmhouse to address a number of difficulties with the property’s existing fabric and layout.  Improvements included extending using traditional oak timber box frame.

MONTPELIER BARN, PETWORTH

The existing barn dates back to late 18th Century and was used as a threshing barn for hay and agricultural vehicles. The brief was to provide additional ancillary accommodation to the house at Montpelier Farm, respecting the condition and quality of the barn whilst providing the accommodation they required.

PEGDEN HALL, SCAYNES HILL

Following a devastating house fire, the main house was to be rebuilt more in keeping with local style and develop a high-performance home with low-carbon footprint. Using inspiration from Weald and Downland Living Museum, a Wealden Hall House design was decided upon.

THE OLD BYRES, HOOE

This brick and flint wall barn and byres has been retrofitted to a stunning EnerPHit standard house. A self build project, entirely project managed by Richard Clayson, has produced a healthy, comfortable, efficient, beautiful home, in a beautiful setting.

WATERSIDE, EAST PRESTON

Waterside is a beach front, Art Deco inspired home, newly built using modern building methods. Inspiration was taken from two notable listed buildings close by: Runnymede an original Art deco property and a Marcel Breuer Modernist House.
